20 May - Eumundi Markets and the Hinterland

Our last day in the Sunshine Coast and it was a Wednesday – that meant Eumundi Market Day.  Eumundi Markets are a Sunshine Coast institution, they are open every Wednesday and Saturday and have a wide range of cool, hip and funky merchandise.  They are also a great spot to grab a bite to eat.  We walked through the markets picking up a bit of this and touch of that and finished with a sampler kind of lunch from a range of cuisines, nice drinks (including fresh mango juice) and the music of a cool band.  Awesome start to the day!

For the afternoon we went into the hinterland which abounds with stunning vistas, lots of cute towns with lovely looking shops (didn’t stop this time, but I might have sampled the odd one or two or twenty before) and beautiful rainforest walks – especially through the totally magnificent Mary Cairncross Reserve.  All in all a truly wonderful sunshine coast day!!!!
